Laura and Owen’s wedding

This was a special wedding for me as Owen is my cousin! It also added the pressure though because I would be there on the day and if anyone didn’t like the favours I would definitely know.. nevertheless I was very excited to work with my cousin and my cousin-to-be Laura in making their day extra special.

I asked them to have a chat and a think between themselves about what flavours or treats they had a particular affinity for so I could help weave that in. We then had a meeting to discuss how we could make their favourites (in their case, salted caramel was non negotiable but they trusted my lead on any others) and we decided on a milk salted caramel and 2 others, so three chocolates per box.

Their setting was a beautiful farm in Somerset and they even had the ceremony on the top of a hill in a stone circle. This nature based setting called for simplicity and wild flowers. We used a simple Kraft box for the favours, tied with natural string and finished with a wildflower. Their favours doubled as place settings so we made tags to tie to each and then laid them out as per the table plan. They also had a few vegan guests so I made specific vegan ones for them and the name tags meant everyone got the right one, even if they got moved around a bit in all the pre dinner excitement.

A beautiful wedding for a stunning couple and I was thrilled to be able to be a small part in making the day that extra little bit special.
